Upon completion of my education at USC’s School of Dentistry and Orthodontics, I began a career in orthodontics alongside my father, Dr. Kwon. Those who know me describe me as a happy individual who is passionate about family, friends, and meeting new people, which is why this profession was and is my passion. When working with patients, I feel as though my job is more of an enjoyable hobby rather than work. Building trusting and long lasting relationships with patients is both a hope and a goal for my practice. In sharing the skills I have attained, I am able to help others gain confidence through a stunning smile, and for many, it is a life changing experience.

Outside of the Practice

Dr. Donald Kwon is a dedicated orthodontist with deep roots in Southern California. Born in Los Angeles and raised in the close-knit community of La Cañada, he grew up surrounded by the values of care and community. Dr. Kwon ventured to the East Coast to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned dual degrees in economics and computer science. While his time in Philadelphia broadened his horizons, his heart led him back to California, inspired to follow in the footsteps of his father, Senior Dr. Joong Kwon, a respected orthodontist.

For over a decade, Dr. Donald Kwon had the privilege of practicing alongside his father, serving patients at their iconic Koreatown office and the newly opened La Cañada location, which he proudly brought to his hometown. His experience working as part of a father-son duo shaped his philosophy of blending innovation with a personal touch to create exceptional patient experiences.

Dr. Kwon now lives in La Cañada with his wife, three children, and their beloved dog. He appreciates his short commute to work, allowing him to remain closely connected to the community he cherishes. Outside the office, Dr. Kwon is passionate about staying active. Whether swimming, playing golf, or enjoying soccer games with childhood friends, he finds joy in movement and camaraderie.

A self-proclaimed foodie, Dr. Kwon balances his active lifestyle with a love for discovering delicious meals and sharing recommendations about his favorite restaurants. His kind nature and easy going personality ensure that every patient feels comfortable and cared for, making him not just a skilled orthodontist but also a trusted neighbor.
